What began as a single tomato-red kitchen at the market in the early nineties grew into a coast-to-coast empire \u2014 and the original address still behaves like it has something to prove, with one of the busiest patios in the city and a dining room that hums from lunch straight through last call.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Concept\"><\/span>The Concept<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>JOEY built its reputation on a simple bet: casual dining executed with fine-dining discipline. The menu borrows from wherever the flavour is \u2014 Japanese sushi bars, Southern smokehouses, Mediterranean lunch counters \u2014 and the Eau Claire location adds the geography: steps from the Bow River pathway and the footbridge to Prince&#8217;s Island Park, it is the natural finish line for a river walk.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_to_Order\"><\/span>What to Order<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The sushi cones with tempura prawn and spicy mayo are the classic opener, the rainbow roll the flashier one. From the kitchen proper: Cajun-blackened chicken, hibachi wings, poke bowls and mini steak French dips with gruy\u00e8re and red-wine jus. The crispy mashed-potato spring rolls remain the side everyone photographs, and the key lime pie is the dessert the brand is known for across the country.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Space\"><\/span>The Space<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Reclaimed warehouse brick and heavy timber beams run through both the lounge and the dining room, giving the place an industrial glow that flatters everyone after sunset.
